Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario - Practice Advisory Service
The College offers a Professional Practice Advisory Service for both dentists and the public. Dedicated staff assist members with practice-related questions involving clinical, regulatory and ethical issues.
Please note that College staff cannot give advice on specific treatment situations or refer patients to specific dentists.
Canadian Dental Protective Association (CDPA)
The CDPA is a non-profit organization offering risk management education, information, professional assistance and support to its members.
Ontario Dental Association (ODA)
The ODA is a voluntary professional organization offering practice management advice and continuing education to its members and promoting and advocating on behalf of the profession.
Canadian Dental Association (CDA)
The CDA is a federation of provincial and territorial dental associations that acts as a knowledge broker on issues affecting the dental profession and advocates for the profession.
Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC)
The MOHLTC oversees the health professions in Ontario, including dentistry.
Health Professionals Appeal and Review Board (HPARB)
The Health Professions Appeal and Review Board is an independent adjudicative agency.
On request, it:
- Reviews decisions made by the Inquiries, Complaints and Reports Committees of the self-regulating health professions Colleges in Ontario;
- Conducts reviews and hearings of orders of the Registration Committees of the Colleges; and
- Holds hearings concerning physicians' hospital privileges under the Public Hospitals Act.
